Amigurumi Alien

Now that is my kind of project! Cute and quick! Ben will love his "rocket ship" I'm sure:)

  1. Madness, I say!!! I can't learn to do this - Madeline will be demanding all sorts of "little dudes." Besides, there is no way that I could ever hope to be as proficient as you are... She's just going to have to commission her wee dudes - from you!

  2. LOL you can totally do it K! I know you can!! Start with bigger yarn... not huge, but decent size. It's easier that way. And make one of those octopi... those are not that difficult.

Jen, the alien is awesome. I love him!!

  3. Hahaha, it all depends on how you want to spend your evenings:) I have some OCD tendencies so right now I am gung ho about crochet but I am sure it will fade some day;) Guess I better make as much as I can while I am still excited about it! I do like the quick little projects. The kids don't have too many requests at this point, Abby is content with her HK and is just hounding me about the flowers for her. I do have octopi for M and E! I am also hunting for my next amigurumi dude...

I have all the colors of the rainbow (and then some) in the Vanna yarn due to Ben's afghan. It works out nicely when I find a little project because I already have the yarn and I have all of my grandma's hooks so no need to run to the store!

  4. I'm quickly building my stock in colors of yarn, mostly in the Vanna's Choice. It's cheap and easy to work with. I went yesterday and picked up some embroidery thread and more polyfill. I love how cheap this hobby is. I haven't spent $100 yet on it, and I have a ton of yarn, several hooks, and I've found so many fun, free patterns. I am going to work on my afghan, but right now I'm really enjoying the ami guys... like you said, Jen... quick little projects. The kids also love them, and get very excited as they see them coming togehter. Fun stuff! I want to go home and work on the dragon that I'm making...
