Meet Pokey

Isn't he the cutest? Another creation but I didn't do a great job at making notes of what I did as I did it. I did make notes on the basics. I know how I made all the individual pieces but the construction was interesting.

Cute! Cute! Cute!

Little Bit Of This and That

I have been making lots of fun little things for the kids these days. Some of these are from a few months ago but most are very recent. Abby's ice cream cone and Ben's blue mouse are missing from the photo. My favorites are the cat toy and loop toy for Conor.

The owls are cute but I want to try a different one, one with ear tufts!

Ben named his blue mouse Cheese so Abby named hers Port Salutia (pronounced suh-loo-ee-uh) after her favorite cheese.

Mmmmmm, donuts!

This cute little almost-finished fish will accompany the mermaid from the previous post:)

I am currently working on a turtle and today I saw a whole book on crocheted robots called "Crobots" so I will search for some free patterns on those tonight! The best part of all of this is when Ben goes to bed each night saying "Wait! I need my donut and my rocketshippy and my ice cream cone and my owly!" Then he snuggles up with all of them to fall asleep.

Ms. Mermaid

My first creation! I have altered many patterns but for this cute little gal I wrote the pattern from scratch and I LOVE it! She is for a special little rainbow-loving girl who adores mermaids and who's favorite colors are red and orange (hence the hair....but the hair is also Arial-inspired). I still have a few minor things to add, she needs a necklace and a bracelet! I am going to have a very difficult time waiting for her birthday to arrive in July!

Here are a few different angles of Ms. Mermaid. It was my first attempt at hair and the method I used resulted in A LOT of it! I will have to look into other techniques before attempting it again (she's quite top heavy). And, if you are wondering why I had to create my own pattern just do a quick search to see the absolutely awful free mermaid patterns out there! I looked at dozens of images and combined my favorite parts of each one to create this one!
